The future of Venice and its Lagoon in a context of global change. Inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1987, the site of Venice and its Lagoon is facing an era of global changes, sharpened by the effects of economic globalization, climate change, and profound social transformations.
Building a shared vision for the safeguarding and sustainable future of the site, through a multi-stakeholder participatory approach, is now of necessity, as well as a test case for sound decision making and management of other sites and cities around the Mediterranean facing similar problems and challenges.
